Building a Foundation of Safe Handling and Good Technique

Handguns are easily the most common weapon that people choose for personal defense. They are small, portable, concealable, and common. Our handgun training courses are broken out into four hour blocks and taught sequentially, allowing the student to go from litle or no knowledge of their handgun to being abel to manipulate it in such a way that they could reliably defend themselves with it.

Whether you are currently scared to hold a handgun or you are a comfortable concealed carrier of many years, we can increase your skill set and enhance your ability to defend yourself and those around you.

Level 1 - Handgun Fundamentals & Safety

This course is four hours long, consisting of three hours of lecture time and one hour of live fire exercises. The "lectures" will consist of open dialog, question/answers, discussions, interactive demonstrations, videos, and more. This is a FUN and SAFE way to be introduced to handguns. This course aims to effectively teach firearm safety, range safety, and the 7 fundamentals of effective shooting.

What You Will Need

What You Will Need:

$140 (tuition fee is $35 / hour)
50 rounds of ammunition for a firearm you bring (personal firearm is NOT required, but is optional)
1. If you do not bring your own firearm, please bring 50 rounds of 9mm ammo (available at $.40 / rd)
50 rounds of .22 LR ammunition
- Available during registration for $.15 / rd
Notebook and pen
OPTIONAL: Your own handgun
- If you bring your own firearm, please bring 50 rounds of standard range ammunition (no armor piercing, tracers, etc.)
- *NOTE* - Firearm and Ammunition MUST be inspected by instructor prior to the beginning of the class

Proficiency

True working knowledge of the 4 Rules of Gun Safety
Safely conduct themselves in a range (understanding range commands, rules, vocabulary, etc.)
Safely and immediately check the status of a handgun (loaded, safety, etc.)
Safely Load and Unload a handgun
Shoot 80% accuracy of a "combat effective" sized-target from a distance of 21 feet
Identify (by correct name) the primary parts of a handgun

Level 2 - Handgun Manipulation & Personal Protection

This course is four hours long, consisting of two hours of lecture time and two hours of live fire exercises. The "lectures" will consist of open dialog, question/answers, discussions, interactive demonstrations, videos, and more. This course continues where Handgun Fundamentals & Safety Course leaves off. While Level 1 teaches safety and the 7 fundamentals of effective shooting, this course goes further into economy of motion and firearm manipulation.

250 rounds of ammunition for a firearm you bring (personal firearm is NOT required, but is optional)
- If you do not bring your own firearm, please bring 150 rounds of 9mm ammunition (available below at $.40 / rd) OR .22LR ammunition (available below at $.15 below)
- You will not need both 9mm and .22LR, just one or the other
Notebook and pen
OPTIONAL: Your own handgun (*NOTE* - Must be inspected by instructor prior to the beginning of the class)

Handgun Training

Advanced Handgun Training

This course is designed to get graduates of our Handgun Manipulation & Personal Protection Course course ready for concealed carry. We will work against the clock with our shooting, reloading, and clearing of malfunctions. This course is six hours long, consisting of a combination of lecture time and live fire exercises. The "lectures" will consist of open dialog, question/answers, discussions, interactive demonstrations, videos, and more. This course continues where Handgun Manipulation & Personal Protection Course leaves off.
