PRICE:    $140 (Breaks down to $28 per hour. If you are paying less than $25/hr, you might want to wonder why...)

This course is five hours long, consisting of 3.5 hours of lecture time and 1.5 hours of live fire exercises. The "lectures" will consist of open dialog, question/answers, discussions, interactive demonstrations, videos, and more. This is a FUN and SAFE way to be introduced to handguns. This course aims to effectively teach firearm safety, range safety, and the 7 fundamentals of effective shooting and expands into legal issues for the state of Georgia, basic home defense planning, and more.

*Note* - There is a strict limit of participants in this course to ensure that each student has adequate one-on-one time with the instructor.

The following topics will be covered: Range safety commands The 4 Rules of Gun Safety Loading and Unloading a handgun Explanation of ammunition Press-checking a handgun 7 Fundamentals of Shooting Sight Alignment and Sight Picture Proper stance and grip Proper trigger control Recoil management Judicious Use of Deadly Force Firearm and Self-Defense Laws for the State of Georgia Basic Home Defense Planning

What you will need:

• $175 ($50 deposit to hold your spot)
• 100 rounds of ammunition for a firearm you bring (personal firearm is NOT required, but is optional)
  • If you do not bring your own firearm, please bring 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition (available during registration at $.40 / rd)
• 100 rounds of .22 LR ammunition
  • Available during registration for $.15 / rd
• Notebook and pen
• OPTIONAL: Your own handgun
  • If you bring your own firearm, please bring 100 rounds of standard range ammunition (no armor piercing, tracers, etc.)
  • *NOTE* - Firearm and Ammunition MUST be inspected by instructor prior to the beginning of the class

Level of Proficiency Student can expect to achieve:

• True working knowledge of the 4 Rules of Gun Safety
• Safely conduct themselves in a range (understanding range commands, rules, vocabulary, etc.)
• Safely and immediately check the status of a handgun (loaded, safety, etc.)
• Safely Load and Unload a handgun
• Shoot 80% accuracy of a "combat effective" sized-target from a distance of 21 feet
• Identify (by correct name) the primary parts of a handgun
• Working knowledge of the judicious use of force
• Familiararity with the laws of the State of Georgia regarding Self-Defense and Firearms

• .22 LR Pistol
• 9mm Pistol (in case student does not bring a personal firearm)
